Descriptions of Classes provided by WP
Introduction to Pilates:
Pilates mat is a fun and challenging exercise class that both strengthens
and stretches your body using your core muscles (those attached to the
spine). It's suitable for all levels of fitness and uses breathing,
focus, control, flowing movement and precision in performing exercises
in sequence to help change your body from the inside out. With only 10
minutes a day you will begin to feel the benefits of this practice.
Pattie Cinelli has been teaching Pilates since 1998. She is a nationally certified personal trainer, group exercise instructor and health/fitness writer in the Washington metro area.
ROm (pronounced Roam)
This 90 minute session is designed in the likeness of a California Spin
Jam - a DJ'd "free" dance experience that is part party, part
investigation and full of celebration. Expanding on this concept, ROm
incorporates a vinyasa flow yoga warm-up that heats muscles and loosens
joints. Ambient grooves and Hip Hop beats then become the backdrop as
you are set free to dance, dance, dance!
BOSU Balance Trainer and Stability Ball Presentation:
Learn to correctly
use this equipment to tone the muscles of your body...while improving your
balance, your aerobic fitness and your agility. This class consists of
aerobic movements on and off the BOSU; and a strength training segment
with free weights on the BOSU and the stability ball. We will conclude
with abs and a stretch using both pieces of equipment. Audience members
will be encouraged to try the equipment. So, wear your Gym shoes and get
ready to have some fun!
